The Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl
The Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl is an annual college football bowl game played at the Orlando Citrus Bowl Stadium in Orlando, Florida. The Citrus Bowl is typically played on New Year’s Day, immediately before the Rose Bowl. The first game was played in 1947 making it one of the oldest of the non-CFP bowls. This year fans packed the stadium to watch Michigan beat Florida 41-7.
Seating Solutions and Florida Citrus Sports partnered up and designed a custom seating layout providing over 1,900 stadium style flip-up seats on their north plaza deck. During the design phase the client’s main concern was the traffic the additional seating would cause. For Seating Solutions this was an easy issue to address due to the modularity of our seating system. We designed the 266’ long stand featuring two wings of 13 rows of our Ultimate Flip-Up seats which allowed more space and better traffic flow near their pre-existing exits. As per the center section of seating we grew the stand to 15 rows to maximize seat space and improve the fan experience. Our Ultimate Flip-Up Seat provides more room for comfort over the industry standard chair, the seat is 19-½” center to center with the upgradable option to add cup holders and armrests. The system featured three vomitories, two understand outlets, and an understand crosswalk which all aided in ease of access to concessions, restrooms, and exits. The system was built with a 12” rise x 30” tread per row and a 4’-10” elevation to the bottom of the first row floorboard to guarantee quality sightlines to the field of play. Our in-house Art Department created a seating manifest and a seat number and aisle letter package to assist fans in easily locating their seats. We would like to thank Florida Citrus Sports for a great opportunity and best of luck in 2016!
